Setup this game to be played? I have tried to figure out how to either install, run, or just play this game and I honestly haven't any idea how to do this. Am I missing something blatantly easy?

are you trying to set it up to play locally or are you trying to set it up to run through a BBS program or Gameserver.
Are you using windows or linux, and which version.
Can you download a file and unzip it?

Key items for most all setups is precise and consistant pathnames.

I currently run several versions in local mode, on my XP-PRO desktop, from their opened folders.

We need more specfic to answer more precisely.

For those that want a quick install local mode usurper game, I have uploaded to my website a zip file that is of a V0.20d game that is reset new, with NO players besides NPC's.
It is in NEW mode, with all weapons and armour wear allowed. It lists Jakob as the sysop, and doesn't need any registration to function. just download the file u20d.zip, uncompress it to the folder of your choice, and then create a shortcut from your desktop, that goes into yhat folder. I have left two batch files that you can use to run the game from. go.bat and local.bat If you want to change the default player from Jakob, edit usurp.ctl with notepad, and change the SYSOPFIRST and SYSOPLAST to something you want. If you want no last name, just erase dangarden.

When you want to play locally, just open the folder, click go.bat or local.bat, and it should startup. I have also included other batch files to pack various, such as users, mail or npc's. Also, I have HMAINT.BAT there that will preform a forced daily maintenance.
You can edit the usurp.cfg file with editor.exe that is in the folde, as well as items, players, npc's etc..
